Pianist
The Greek pianist Evelina Argyrou was born in a music environment in Athens. She obtained her piano diploma in Athens with honors, under the guidance of Sofia Ntousia at the National Conservatory of Greece.
She graduated from Utrecht’s Conservatory with the highest distinction.
In June 2021, she won the Emir Steyerberg Prize for one of the best bachelor exams of the year. She is currently studying in the Master Program of Piano Performance with Klára Würtz at the HKU – Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht.
Her artistic activities include solo recitals as well as chamber music concerts in important halls in the Netherlands, Spain, France, Belgium, and Greece.
She has performed in halls such as the Tivoli Vredenburg (Utrecht), the Utrecht City Hall, the Utrecht Library, the Maene Auditorium (Brussels), the Auditorium “Tignespace”(France), Pianissim (Barcelona), the Auditorio de Musical Arts (Madrid), Megaron Athens Concert Hall, the “Stavros Niarchos” foundation, Benaki’s Museum, Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Athens, Hellenic American Union, Institut français d’Athènes, «Vouleftikon» Greek First Parliament, etc., as well as in important international festivals, such as the Mini Liszt Festival of “Frank Liszt Kring”, the MusicAlp Festival, and the XXXI Campus Musical “Santa Maria de la Armonia”.
In 2018, she was selected by the HKU chamber music committee to perform with her trio in the “Hertz Zaal” of Tivoli Vredenburg. She has also been selected by the HKU piano committee to perform as a soloist with the UYO orchestra in April 2022 in the Grote Zaal of TivoliVredenburg under the baton of Alejandro Cantalapierda.
In May of 2022 she performed with the “Utrecht Conservatory Orchestra” conducted by Andres Navarro Torres. She is a member of the Nationaal Jeugd Orkest and has performed under the guidance of Antony Hermus.
She has received lessons from Nikolai Lugansky, Paavali Jumppaven, Laurent Cabasso, Michael Hauber, Gilead Mishory, Konrad-Maria Engel, Vladimir Viardo, Wolfram Schmitt-Leonardy, Vitaly Samoshko, David Lively, Janina Fialkowska, Domna Evnouhidou, Karolos Zouganelis, etc.
Evelina has been selected by Dmitri Bashkirov to participate in a masterclass series, part of the Grand Prix Maria Callas.
